Microsoft förbjuder öppen kod i Windows Phone 7

Och så kan man på IDG (och här) (som snappat upp det från Joe Wildeboer) att Microsoft förbjuder ett flertal (dock inte alla) licenser för öppen källkod. Microsoft säger att

The Application must not include software, documentation, or other materials that, in whole or in part, are governed by or subject to an Excluded License, or that would otherwise cause the Application to be subject to the terms of an Excluded License.

och sedan tar man lite smusslande och definierar vad "Excluded License" är på ett annat ställe men det inkluderar både GNU-GPL och GNU-LGPL och flera mindre licenser som t.ex. Eclipse Public License och Mozilla Public License. Noka kan således t.ex. inte använda QT eftersom den är under GPL. Eftersom LGPL används i många program kan det också drastiskt minska antalet tillgängliga program.
